BIMINI 6/26-6/28
By CRUZ-A-LOT, 6/28/09

We made a run over to Bimini this weekend. We caught a bunch of small bottom fish and a lot of small dolphin. On day two we decided to make a run for yellowfin tunas. Found these boys and lost 2 others… >>Forum Thread & More Photos

SON'S FIRST SLAM
By iMacattack, 6/21/09

We made our way to the first spot. Ride was a bit sporty but the D-Man liked hopping from wave to wave. The Garmin with Weather by XM told me we had limited time to make our game plan happen. A cell of ugly weather would be upon us in less than an hour.

Baits in the water and no sooner the first fish was being fought. Trout... then Red... then Snook! How about that in less than 20 minutes Big "D" had his first ever slam. Pictures taken, high fives (well honestly low five but to a five year old it was a high five) Baits back in the water and pow, trout! Then the snook army showed up with one feisty volunteer after another testing Big "D's" fish catching mojo!

But weather and prudent minds necessitated a move. Once again the old 115 Ocean Pro Johnson roared to life and we boogied out before Mother Nature could unleash her fury… >>Forum Thread & More Photos

BISCAYNE BAY AT NIGHT
By str8outtha9c, 6/14/09

I started off the day with a call from Alonzo to head to mingo at about 9:00 am. We had planned on heading early but his boat was at the canvas shop and the guy had locked up and left early the night before. So we made it to 'mingo at around 11:30. We came across a couple schools of reds but they were very finicky. We moved off and headed west. We caught several snook out west. I caught three. As I get home, a buddy calls me that they are heading out to the bay. I decided to go with them to try to get my first tarpon.

We launch at around 11:00 pm. We head to the first stop and while I was still rigging my leader, I hear Bernard (brakish1) say "I'm on!" After some long runs across the bridge, and back out toward some docks he finally gets it out for a quick picture. It was a very nice snook. After a couple cast, we move off in search of tarpon… >>Forum Thread & More Photos

BULLY FOR ME!
By T-L- Sea, 6/06/09

Headed out of PE around 7. We were greeted with flat calm seas. Hit the balls for some fresh bally's, the water was too clean and they stayed just out of the reach of the net. Good thing we had already rigged some.

We were worried about the SW wind pushing everything offshore. We decide to run till we see any signs of life. We started seeing lots of free jumpers out past 800. They seemed too big to be sails but who knows. Ran out about 17 miles. Found lots of debris along the way with nobody home...buoys, wood, garbage bags etc. No real weedline, just scattered weeds at about 12 miles and 15 miles.

We decide to hit the scattered weeds that we had seen at 12 miles and go south. Shortly into our troll the long rigger gets smoked. He hit a big Pink and white Williamson chugger. We have a nice bull on and Tanya goes to work. Then the right one goes... We get the bull in and leave the other one in the water. Two more come up and they are quick to inhale the chunked bally. Sweet we got the bull and his 3 friends… >>Forum Thread & More Photos
