GROUPER, KINGS AND SNAPPER CRYSTAL RIVER
By Jimsfish obsession, 11/15/09
Dave and I have been trying to hook up for a few months now. Dave really wanted to catch some kings and I knew we were running out of time with the water cooling down. Between my busy schedule and the frequent bad weather, it has been hard to get together, but we finally made it happen. I generally don't put posts up if I don't fish, but Dave's 8 year old son Isaiah asked if I would put the pics up on the internet so I told him no problem. It was a great day on the water with a great crew.

FUN IN THE SURF
By PonceCruiser, 11/09/09
My family and I went down to Indian Rocks Beach for a mini vacation with the intentions of a little rest and relaxation, fishing and good seafood. The weather was perfect with a lot of sunshine and calm surf. The bite in the surf was very slow but Brandon and I did catch some spanish mackerel. We had a couple of nice strikes including a big shark on the rod Brandon had made for me, 100 yards had peeled off before the break in the line set the biggun free…

CRYSTAL RIVER GROUPER
By bone2112, 11/02/09
Headed back out to 35 feet to try for reds. Went through half our bait before we got a keeper. There were tons of 18 to 19 inch reds. Got one big gag then moved to 25 feet and picked up 4 more gags. Nice day again, with a lot of just undersize grouper. Also caught 1 big bonito, released of course.

WACCASASSA BAY BAR HOPPING
By PonceCruiser, 10/25/09
Brandon (AKA Catfish Kid) and I met at the ramp at first daylight this morning to search out a few reds and trout on the out going tide. Heading up the river it was a chilly 48 degrees, we weren't quite ready for that, flip-flops didn't cut it, however by mid morning things were warmer. There was a lot of water pouring out exposing bars. Water temp was 70 degrees. We had a lot of blow-ups and a few reds that spit the hooks. Brandon caught 23" and 27" reds. The flats were holding trout for us of 17 to 18 inches. We saw a tripletail out there but could not convince him to eat. The wind picked up and our time was limited, so we were off the water by 1:30.
