De-Bait-Able Wins The Inaugural Sailfish 400!

An unusually slow bite forced 43 teams to make every opportunity count in the inaugural Sailfish 400 tournament held in Miami on January 16 & 17. A purse in excess of $574,000 kept the teams on their toes despite lackluster fishing. At any second, one fish could make the difference between 10th place and 1st place.


Hot Rods & Reels Charity Fishing Tournament

The Darrell Gwynn Foundation is a charitable organization whose mission is to provide support for people living with paralysis and to prevent spinal cord injuries. Their flagship fundraising event, a fishing tournament called Hot Rods and Reels, is held each year at the Homestead Miami Speedway on the infield lake.


FS Northeast Bash & Tournament Success!

The 3rd Annual Northeast Florida Sportsman Bash & Tournament held this past weekend was an overwhelming success, raising more money than any other FS Forum based tournament in the past. Thanks to our hard working and dedicated voluntary Forum moderators and tournament directors, this years NE Bash & Tournament raised over $20,000 for Yvonne Tison, who is battling Lyme Disease.


Rookie Team Wins 2014 Blue Marlin Grand Championship

New boat owner Cramer Pierce made the most of his opportunity. Pierce saw his first blue marlin ever come up on a pink Marlin Magic lure Friday, hooked the fish and finally landed it after a three-hour battle.

Florida Sportsman Southeast Bash & Tournament Recap

The 2014 Florida Sportsman Southeast Bash & Tournament held this past weekend at Sandsprit Park in Stuart went off without a hitch, raising $5,000 for the House of Hope Veterans Fund, Martin County Chapter.


Team Sailsmen Claim 1st Place at the Saltwater Slam!

On Saturday, June 7th Team Sailsmen took to the stage in patriotic costumes and weighed in a total of 144.9lbs to win the 19th annual Mercury/SeaVee Pompano Beach Saltwater Slam! 97 Boats competed in this one-day tournament with hopes of taking home the big check.


Jason Christie Wins Bassmaster Elite

Oklahoma’s Jason Christie won the Bassmaster Elite Tournament on Arkansas’ Lake Dardanelle Sunday, collecting the $100,000 prize, the big trophy and a Toyota Bonus Bucks award of an extra $3,000.


2014 Bossman Redfish Series Recap

The 2014 Bossman Redfish Series, sponsored in part by Suzuki Marine, had a total of 59 teams enter throughout the season. Thirty teams showed for the finale to battle fierce wind conditions, with 25 managing to weigh fish in.


Battle in the Bahamas 2014

Excitement took over and no one could sleep the night before April 24th, 2014. The morning was still young when a total of 60 people, with 33 being anglers, took the three hour trek from Port Everglades to Freeport, Grand Bahamas.

UCF Team Wins Bassmaster College Series Regional

Kyle Oliver and Hunter McKamey of the University of Central Florida overcame an unexpected cold front to win the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series Southern Regional on Lake Okeechobee with a two-day total of 39 pounds 12 ounces.

Brain Nelli  (NELBAG) won the offshore division with 135.5-inches between four fish, including this American red snapper.

2013 FS Kayak Challenge Recap

The 2nd Annual Florida Sportsman Kayak Challenge is in the books. Over the last two months, a total of 142 anglers competed in two divisions to bring home their share of over $6000 in prizes.


2013 Fall Sailfish Classic Results

The 2013 Fall Sailfish Classic just passed and big money was won. Many boats fished this tournament, but only three brought home a check. The tournament was a great turn out and a lot of fun for all that participated.

The Kayak Fishing ClassicS held the Pine Island Classic on July 13, hosted by the famous Tarpon Lodge on Pine Island. The Gulf Division is still up in the air and the series championship will come down to the wire…again. Nothing was really settled as far as the Gulf series goes and it will be anyone’s game at Ozello come September.


Friendly Flamingo Fishing Tournament

Friendly Flamingo Fishing Tournament runs for 12th year. The tournament kicked off on July 11th at Tradewinds Bar and Grill at Bayside marina with a meet and greet for the anglers and their families. The criteria of fish for this event was for anglers to try and get the inshore grand slam, which consists of: tarpon, redfish, snook, and trout.


FS Southeast Bash Update: Dylan Jouppi’s Progress

Today, Long Nguyen and Blair Wickstrom presented a $9372.00 check to the Jouppi family of Stuart, FL. The check will benefit the youngest, Dylan Jouppi, who was born with an encephalocele, hydrocephalus, Dandy-Walker Syndrome and Klippel-Feil Syndrome. This check came from the Florida Sportsman Southeast Bash fishing tournament that ran this past May.
