Friendly Flamingo Fishing Tournament

Friendly Flamingo Fishing Tournament runs for 12th year. The tournament kicked off on July 11th at Tradewinds Bar and Grill at Bayside marina with a meet and greet for the anglers and their families. The criteria of fish for this event was for anglers to try and get the inshore grand slam, which consists of: tarpon, redfish, snook, and trout.


FS Southeast Bash Update: Dylan Jouppi’s Progress

Today, Long Nguyen and Blair Wickstrom presented a $9372.00 check to the Jouppi family of Stuart, FL. The check will benefit the youngest, Dylan Jouppi, who was born with an encephalocele, hydrocephalus, Dandy-Walker Syndrome and Klippel-Feil Syndrome. This check came from the Florida Sportsman Southeast Bash fishing tournament that ran this past May.


Extreme Kayak Fishing – May Madness Recap

The fun and excitement kicked off at the Captains meeting May 17th at Brus Room in Pompano Beach. According to the 113 registered anglers, “the food was great, but the raffle prizes were insane!”

Bass Fishing Kids Tournament at John Prince Park

On April 27th 2013, The Bass Fishing Kids tournament trail stopped off at John Prince Park. The weather made for a perfect day to catch some fish. There were a total of 31 fish caught.

Gearing up for a generational rivalry at left is Counter Culture, run by Matthew Neber. At right is Contender One, run by Matthew’s father, Joe Neber. On the second day of competition, the guys split the daily prizes, with Contender One taking the morning bite, and Counter Culture taking the afternoon. Matthew’s crew also released a blue marlin.

4 Aces, owned by Miamian Peter Adrian and skippered by John Dudas, tallied 16 sailfish releases to take top honors at the two-day Jimmy Johnson National Billfish Championship that ended Saturday in the Florida Keys.

The Kayak Fishing ClassicS opened the East Coast divisional series on February 9 with the Mosquito Lagoon Redfish Classic in Titusville, Florida. The three redfish tournament was greeted with sustained high winds that would build during the three day weekend.

Kyle Monti of Okeechobee,Fla., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 24 pounds even Saturday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Gator Division event on Lake Okeechobee. For his victory, Monti earned $6,000.


Miss Annie Collects Over $196,000 in One Day Sailfish Challenge

71 boats cleared three different inlets on the morning of February 9th with hopes of taking home the 1st place title in the 2013 Sailfish Challenge. 36 boats checked out of Lake Worth Inlet, 24 out of Hillsboro and 11 out of Government Cut.
