Fishing Magazines are Number One
Magazines are the number one fishing-related media source according to a recent study.
Fishing magazines received the highest marks, 44 percent, in a recent survey held by Southwick Associates that asked what type of media source was used most to learn about fishing. Southwick Associates specializes in collecting research to help the recreational fishing industry, as well as fish and wildlife agencies, understand public-participation trends.
Web sites came in second place with 22 percent of survey participants saying that’s where most of their fishing information comes from. The FS Forum, part of the floridasportsman.com web site, only continues to increase in popularity, and is a great source for daily fishing information.
Rounding out the final three media categories were television with 19 percent, newspapers with nine percent and radio with three percent. Magazines reign supreme.
