St. Lucie River Cleanup this Weekend
City of Stuart participates in national River Cleanup Day
The City of Stuart is participating in the 2007 National River Cleanup Day. Volunteer City employees, downtown businesses, and members of the community plan to clean up along the banks of the beleaguered St. Lucie River, Krueger Creek, Poppleton Creek, and Frazier Creek. Volunteers will meet Saturday, June 9th a little before 9 a. m. at the Anchorage building. The cleanup lasts until 12 noon. After the cleanup, food, drinks and T-shirts are provided at the Anchorage building.

“If you really care you will get involved and get down and dirty with the rest of us,” said Paul Daly, owner of the Flagler Grill. “Everything we do to clean up the river and raise awareness about pollution in the St. Lucie River helps our community environmentally, politically, and economically.”
