Public Comment Opportunities Ahead on Snook Regs
FWCC assessment shows unacceptable numbers of mature fish
The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold a series of public comment meetings regarding the recent snook assessment. The recent assessment concluded that snook are not meeting their management goal of 40% spawning potential ratio and increasing fishing effort is contributing to the declining SPR. And they will review the snook workgroup recommendations that include narrowing the current slot, changes to closed seasons, and dropping the Atlantic coast daily bag limit to 1-fish.
