While tuna fishing, an angler catches a wonderful surprise
On Saturday, June 17, George Glynatsis was trolling cedar plugs for yellowfin tuna aboard the Deep Drop, when an enormous dolphin struck. The fish peeled off heaps of 50-pound line from a Shimano Trinidad.
The hit came at 6:45 pm, 18 miles off of Lyford Cay, Nassau, Bahamas. Back at the dock, the fish weighed in at 84.6 pounds and measured 5 feet, 9 inches.
“I thought it grabbed the plug on the 30-pound outfit, so we wondered for a while if it was a record,” said Glynatsis.
Not quite, but still the fish of a lifetime.
