Atlantic Council Seeks Advisors
Offer your expertise to help guide federal fishery authorities.
The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council is looking for knowledgeable anglers with willingness to travel some, to function as members of advisory panels.
From Florida, the Council needs: One charter and one recreational seat for the King and Spanish Mackerel Advisory Panel; one recreational, two charter, two commercial, and one diver for the Snapper Grouper AP.
The APs meet no more than once or twice per year, and are compensated for travel expenses. Both APs make critical decisions on bag and size limits, as well as seasons, commercial quotas and other issues. As an advisor, you won't be making the decisions, but rather offering important guidance for the Council, which is made up of appointed leaders from various states in the U.S. South Atlantic region.
