Editorial lambastes U.S. sugar program.
No one seems to like the controversial U.S. sugar program but the politicians who keep supporting it and the sugar farmers who make cane and zillions from subsidies while polluting the Everglades and other properties.
In a recent editorial titled "Sweet and Lowdown," the prestigious Wall Street Journal cries "Enough." Stop the sugar fiasco in the 2007 Farm Bill, urges the Journal.
The editorial says the sugar program, "pound for pound, might be the most destructive policy in Washington..." and "may also be the dumbest."
