Surf’s Up!
Gamefish of all types are prowling most Florida beaches.
Grab a rod and head for the beach. That is, if you want to chance tying into a snook, tarpon or other line-puller. Beach hookups up and down most of Florida’s east coast seem to be the norm currently for anglers who rise before the roosters.
Best reports we’ve heard so far chronicle tarpon mere feet from the shore at select spots between St. Augustine and Flagler Beach. Select means you’ll have to search for the pods. They shouldn’t be too hard to find with pelicans bombing and silver kings striking.
Farther south in the East Central region, snook are roaming the beaches. Sebastian Inlet and Fort Pierce Inlet state parks are good starting points to tap into this fun and release-only fishing.
