Cleanest Marina Award?
These guys run a tight ship.

Okay, they have awards for everything else, how about the cleanest Florida marina? The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), together with the Clean Boating Partnership, recently recognized Orange Cove Marina in Cocoa Beach as Florida’s newest Clean Marina.

“Preserving Florida’s clean waters is essential to our economy and to the quality of life we enjoy in Florida,” said Vivian Garfein, Director of DEP’s Central District. “By earning this designation, Orange Cove Marina has proven its stewardship and commitment.”

Serving Cocoa Beach for more than 25 years, the 2-acre marina is home to 30 boat slips. The marina developed environmentally-friendly practices, including recycling programs for used oil, solvents, batteries and fishing line. They have environmental education programs with signs and brochures for visitors. They’ve also had expansion and renovation of facilities to prevent stormwater runoff and reduce exotic vegetation.

Sounds like a nice operation. One of many that have updated their facilities to help protect the environment.
