Tallahassee’s Lake Talquin hosts 3-day camp April 8-10.
Northwest Florida women can now participate in the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Becoming An Outdoors-Woman program in their backyard. For the first time, the 3-day workshop will be held at spacious Camp Wallwood on the shores of 8,800-acre Lake Talquin.
Twenty-two outdoor topics are offered, covering every aspect of Florida shooting and hunting—archery, black powder, handguns, rifles and shotguns—along with outdoor cooking, backpacking, kayaking and boating, wilderness survival, fishing and photography among others. The 4-hour courses feature small classes with one-on-one, hands-on instruction. Evenings are packed with additional seminars and entertainment.
Participants bunk out in air-conditioned cabins, or tents if they choose. Three meals a day and all materials are provided. Contact Lynne or Susan at (561) 625-5126, or get details and a registration form online at www.myFWC.com/BOW.
