Flat Seas, Sick Days Correlate
Boating poll confirms our suspicions.
According to a recent Progressive Insurance poll of over 1,000 boaters, people with fishing boats are more likely to call in sick than owners of pleasure craft.
And here’s an even bigger revelation: Thirty-three percent of people with fishing boats say that pleasure craft owners are inconsiderate of fellow boaters, while only 8 percent of pleasure boaters point the finger at fishermen as being jerks on the water.
Other interesting results from the survey: Nine percent of boaters bought their boat after just one day of shopping, with fishing boat owners more likely than pleasure craft owners to do so. Buyers over age 65 were three times more likely than young buyers to spend just one day shopping. Thirty percent of boaters spent a month shopping before buying. And most importantly, male boaters revealed they would rather be stranded on a remote island with Mary Ann than Ginger. FS
