The pages of Florida Sportsman Magazine will come to life under one giant roof at the sparkling new Palm Beach Convention Center on Nov. 20 and 21. The Show moved after nine years at the South Florida Fairgrounds, outgrowing a second expo hall that the Fair opened last year. Anglers will find plenty to see, do and buy at the Show that features 100,000 square feet of tackle, fishing boats, seminar stages, kids’ events, and hands-on rigging, cast-netting and fly-casting demos.
"With the cancellation of our Miami Fishing Show due to Hurricane Ivan, tackle and boat companies are chompin' at the bit to display their wares," says FS show director Robin Smillie. "There should be some pretty good ‘hurricane sale’ deals, not to mention the ongoing seminars on two stages--offshore and inshore, Riggin’ it Right Academy, Contender Dreamboat display and tons of kids’ events. Over one hundred exhibitors from all over the country are signed on."
Offshore anglers might want to sit in on a hands-on ballyhoo rigging seminar where Florida Sportsman staffers teach several rigging techniques. Those who fish closer to the mangroves should enjoy a seminar at the 10,000-gallon Inshore Stage where experts give advice from the bow of a flats boat.
