Hurricanes and high water can’t keep them down for long. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Hunter Education Department will sponsor a Becoming An Outdoors-Woman BOW) workshop in the J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area on the edge of the Everglades near West Palm Beach November 12-14.
Women can choose among 19 one-on-one, hands-on seminars during the three-day workshop. Topics range from a variety of hunting and shooting courses—black powder, handguns, rifles, skeet and crossbows—to complete-menu outdoor cooking, fishing, backpacking and personal defense. Cuddle up to an alligator or your favorite reptile during the evening presentations. Women can camp out in air-conditioned cabins or rough it in tents. Meals are provided. Cost is $150.
