Oct. 10-12 NE Offshore Allen Mills of Fernandina (www.accharters.net) did get out one day, Saturday, with the rough seas we are having lately. He reports sixteen keeper snapper to 16 lbs, four Grouper to 20lbs, and 45 Seabass. Lots rull reds at the Tip of the Jettis in Fernandina. JB of B&M reports if you can get out snapper are biteing very good on the near shore wrecks . Lots of bull reds at the tip's of the Mayport jetties with drum starting to pick up. Mangrove's biting very well but are not running as large as they were . Sheephead are turning on as well. Also JB reports on some good pompano catches at the Jacksonville beach pier. Talked to Holly Reynolds of the retiring Neptune party Boat that will be replaced very shortly by the Majesty . The Neptune has put in 25 years of good service. The Majesty will be Captained by Scott Reynolds and they our looking forward to continue provideing great Deep Sea fishing opportunities. Rough water has kept them in but I should get some Reports for next week. The same goes for the St.Augustine area if you can get out snapper are biteing. Inshore JB of B&M reports solid catches of flounder with some caught just under 10 lbs. Finger mullet dragged on the bottom are what those Flounder want JB says and Rusty makes sure that B&M is well stocked with live finger mullet if you do not want to cast a net and catch your own.Thankyou B&M. Flounder are everywhere around the Mayport area. No dock or sand bottom structure should not be overlooked Andy Simmon's reports to me while bank fishing under a certain public dock with finger mullet eighteen keeper Flounder to 5lbs. over the weekend with his Dad. Zak from Devil's Elbow fish camp of St.Augustine report's solid schools of mullet at Matanzas inlet atracting bull reds, tarpon and sharks. Black drum showing up on the shallow flats around that area also. Flounder have been slow the past week. Salt Run area has been the best bet for flounder along with decent oversize to slot size redfish at the nearby jetty. Croakers are biteing well around Blount Island in the St.Johns River along with decent size yellowmouth trout. Finally Topwater Trout fishing is very good right now I personally had 18 trout Sunday in the Dunns Creek area all on Topwater lures and five of those were over twenty inches.
