Sea Fox 268 Commander Boat Review

Let's take a closer look at the Sea Fox 268 Commander in this Florida Sportsman boat review.

Sea Fox 268 exhibits easy trim manners and a smooth ride. The overall handling characteristics of the 268 were exceptional.

The Commander series from Sea Fox is a perfect example of the versatility today's boating family demands out of a boat. The 268 Commander is a boat designed for families who like to relax on the water while enjoying multiple activities doing it.

The forward seating arrangement on the 268 is built to accommodate a crowd. Six people can easily be seated in a circle relaxing- without crowding each other in any way. The forward wraparound seat converts from a bench lounge to a full coverage sun pad or casting platform- to a dining area with very little effort. For maximum comfort during a run of any distance- it's easy to move a few people into the cockpit bench seating and another two to the helm eliminating excessive motion for the riders.

For easier water entry and dockside boarding- Sea Fox designed a side entry dive door which opens inward to the cockpit and is held open safely with a magnetized catch with heavy duty polished hardware. A second exit is available to starboard through the transom to a platform mounted boarding ladder.

Sea Fox's Ultima Hard Top provides abundant shade and five separate overhead storage compartments. Front and rear facing LED light bars- as well as LED courtesy lights, audio speakers and seven overhead rod holders are also included. The helm on the 268 includes a large heads-up instrument panel which is blacked out to reduce glare. This dash offers plenty of room for all of your electronics and instrumentation as well as a wireless Bluetooth phone charger.

Equally important as the comfort of your passengers is the comfort of the helmsman over the course of the day at the wheel. The driving experience can make or break your enjoyment level when you're the navigator and the pilot. In this case, the Sea Fox 268 exhibits easy trim manners and a smooth ride, the overall handling characteristics of the 268 were exceptional and left me with plenty left in the tank after a long day running her.
