Inshore

Fishing this week has been excellent for pompano. Customers are catching their daily bag limit in about 10-20 minutes, on the right tide. Fishing T & A Wacky jigs has been the ticket to success. Drifting the flats will get the desired bites. Anchoring up and fishing with Fishbites or sand fleas on pompano rigs will also work very well. Snook fishing has been decent when fishing live bait around structure. 40-pound fluorocarbon leaders with 2/0 – 6/0, determined by the size baits you’ll be using when fishing. Mixed in are plenty of jack crevalles and bluefish.

Offshore

Fishing offshore this week has been excellent for mahi and sailfish while trolling in depths of 90′-160′. Few larger blackfin tuna are in these depths locally this week as well. Bottom fishing has been good for lane snapper, mutton, mangrove, vermillion, and cobia. Plenty of kingfish and barracudas are around, so throwing out a wire leader rig with a live bait on the surface will add action on the boat.
