September 11-13

Fishing this week is red hot for keeper-sized snook. Fishing structure with live baits is key to success. Live croakers, mullet and threadfins of medium size will produce the bites from these keeper sized fish. Tarpon fishing remains strong around channel edges when anchored using live mullet.

Trolling this week has been hit or miss. A few good sized mahi are around from 90-180’ or further out in 800-feet has been best. Bottom fishing has been excellent for mutton snapper on the Six and Eight Mile reef system. Long leaders with sardines for bait will get desired results. A few cobia and amberjacks are in the mix as well. Kingfish remain steady in 70 to 140-feet and live or dead sardines on the surface will work best with wire leaders.
