April 12-14

Inshore

Snook and jack crevalle are around in full force this week. Fishing live white bait fish is your ticket to success. Fishing around structure will provide as many bites as you have baits in your livewell. We have also been catching a few larger seatrout this week as by catch when targeting snook and jacks.

Nearshore/Beach

Pompano fishing has been great along the beach this week. Bait fishing with fish bites on pompano rigs will yield plenty of action from pompano, bluefish, whiting, sand perch, and jack crevalle. South Stuart beaches have been very productive over the past couple days. Get out and soak up the sun while filling up a cooler with tasty pompano. If you’re fishing from a boat, there have been tons of five to 15-pound jacks cruising the beaches, willing to take almost any artificial. Some tarpon and permit are around. Also keep your eyes open for cobia, as they will be swimming close to shore this time of year as well.

Offshore

Fishing offshore this week has been stellar for snapper and cobia. Mixed in are tons of rudderfish and amberjacks. Mahi are being caught live baiting along weed lines in 180 to 220-feet. If live bait isn’t an option, trolling has been somewhat productive along weedlines in this same depth. Find good conditions and troll the outside of it with dead ballyhoo for bites from sailfish, tuna, mahi, bonita, kingfish, and cobia.
