For the well-rounded angler who enjoys offshore and nearshore fishing, with a dose of shallow back water added for good measure, a “Crossover” hull is the perfect fit. A hull design that is offshore ready with lower freeboard but with enough gunnel height for secure footing while doing battle with larger offshore species, combined with a raised casting deck aft for inshore exploits, is a great choice for the boater who likes variety. The Crevalle 26 Open is a very striking example of having the best of both worlds. This boat offers lots of dock appeal with highly custom finish work and functionality that few could find fault with. During our water testing offshore, the 26 performed impressively in a confused three-foot cross chop and drifted comfortably to the beam. Inshore she slipped through a foot of water on the trolling motor around docks and mangrove shorelines very quietly.

A stylish hard top with an optional spotting tower utilizes a very cool 12V powered sliding access hatch and features a fly by wire second station. The upper helm is manned from a comfortable bolster seat which makes extended runs a breeze, a clear advantage for long days of inshore/offshore sight fishing. Twin 30-gallon live wells aft and a 12-gallon well forward come standard, each with Attwood 800-GPH dual port aeration pumps and Anti-Venturi thru-hull fittings. There are ten (10) gunnel mounted rod holders (4- Mate series rod/cup holders), two (2) removable 72-quart coolers. Our test boat featured an optional 170-quart coffin box cooler with a plush cushioned top and wrap-around bolster back/arm rest that we found exceptionally comfortable. An impressive list of standard features makes this a fishing package leaving little to be desired and custom quality construction standards from top to bottom indicate a builder who takes great pride in their product. The model we tested was a decked out version with lots of optional trim and accents that turned a lot of heads and drew praise both at the dock and on the water. For the boater looking at “Crossover” hulls that wants a highly finished, head of the class performer, the Crevalle 26 Open will not disappoint.
