Florida Sportsman member Captain Yak roughed some nasty water to catch a few almaco jacks before being pushed off the water by afternoon storms. Even if launching from the shore is possible in the morning, the surf can easily pick up throughout the day, as Capt. Yak can attest. Returning back to shore can be pretty dicey when the swell is spitting. Landing on the beach anywhere near the launch point can be a pain if the tide is ripping north.
