GoPro Fishing Footage

Florida Sportsman member Uncle Buck put together an interesting compilation of underwater and fishing video clips from January through September of 2011, testing different uses for the GoPro HD Hero camera. Footage includes everything from underwater reefs to deep dropping, pushing his GoPro camera to the limit.

“It’s mostly a collection of experiments with the GoPro. The first scenes were captured by strapping the camera to a downrigger ball and slow-trolling inside Boca Inlet. Most of the rest of the footage was taken from the end of a custom-made handle pieced together from a rod butt, tripod head, and a wooden dowel. The deep-dropping scenes took a lot of cojones. The camera was strapped to a 5lb sash weight and fired down almost to its 200ft crush depth. To my knowledge, nobody has done that before with a GoPro cam! [...]

    I can't believe it went down to 200ft. GoPro only suggests 180ft, I thought. Great video. I love underwater GoPro videos.
