Whether you’re fishing in dark water situations inshore or low light conditions offshore, the key to catching fish is getting your bait to stand out. And many anglers are doing just what you wouldn’t think would work. They’re using even darker lures. Join Blair Wickstrom as he heads to the tannic-stained backwater of the Everglades with Adam Gelber and Brian in search of snook and tarpon.

And then we head offshore with Florida Sportsman’s Rick Ryals for some early morning trolling using dark lures and skirts dolphin, wahoo and who knows what else..

Finding dark lures shouldn’t be a problem, but if you’re favorite lure doesn’t come in a dark color, or you’re out on your boat and you just lost your last dark lure, break out a Sharpie or plan ahead with some spray paint.
