COBIA REPORT
By teambosshog, 5/2/11

Well took the girl and a few friends out to the beach to look for some cobes, got started around 9:30. Drove straight to the red tops and started looking for the rays in about 50′ of water. It wasnt to long until we started seeing some rays. The first ray didn’t seem to have a cobia on it, recast a live pogie right on it, sank down nothing. I made another cast with a white hogie and a nice fish darted out from under the ray and nailed it! We saw a few more rays with fish on it, ended up hooking a nice fish and breaking him off and we caught one other free swimmer. Overall a nice day on the beach, shouldn’t be to long until they are thick up here! >>Forum Thread & More Photos

LEDGE REPORT
By Vamanos, 4/12/11

Left Fernandina about 0500 Saturday morning with high hopes for dolphin and maybe a marlin as the temp charts were showing a great rip in about 1200ft. Pulled back at the ledge and continued trolling east water was pretty cold and dirty 68-69 until 800ft then finally warmed up and turned into the blue 76 degree water we were looking for around 1000ft… >>Forum Thread & More Photos

TRIPLETAIL FOR DINNER
By
Nanna Phobic, 01/20/11

Like most of you guys, I’m locked, loaded and ready for the cobia to show. And like many, I’m also cursed with this terrible “itch” that needssome scratching here soon rather than later. We’re probably another month or soaway from some of the best fishing life has to offer and if the reports fromdown south are any indication, we’re going have an incredible cobia season, weather permitting (knock on wood)…>>Forum Thread & More Photos

REDFISHFOR THE LITTLE GUY

By Tdrottt, 3/20/11

Christianand I went out last week and caught a few nice ones. Christians was itching togo fishing since he hasn`t been out in a while. We fished some new areas at lowtide and got good results. Christian caught 4 slot reds and I caught 7 redswith 3 being slot and 4 flounder. The biggest was at 27 with a few 25`s mixedin. We lost 2 reds that were secured by our redfish wrench when they did theirhead shakes, a first for us. We also did some sight seeing one day and watchedan eagle feed its baby in the nest. This weekend I went out with my dad onSaturday and tried to fish an area that is great on a flood tide but it didn`tget high enough. We didn`t get anything till’ mid day. I caught a few rats andhe caught a few then I got a nice fat 29 inch red before I had to head in. Hestayed out and told me later he caught 7 nice reds right after I left. All fishcaught on white or duct tape Fishbites paddle tails or 1/4 oz chartreuse SlayerInc. jighead.
