Westarted our day at Key Colony Inn for their awesome brunch, then loaded theboat and off we go. I met up with my buddy Nick for our 3rd tortugas attempt this year and thank God the weather was great this time. Westarted off the day catching bait and then we ran down a color change off Key West to see ifanything was hanging on it. Sure enough there was a big sailfish cruising it sowe crept up on him and I pitched a big pilchard in front of him and he was allabout it…

VALENTINE’S GROUPER

Went out on the private boat “Roll Tide” yesterday with boat owner Ray to do a little catching. Didn’t know that I was about to witness a nice grouper “love fest” for Valentine’s Day. With some nice jogs and bluerunners in the well, we headed out to go check on some sailfish grounds west of Western Dry Rocks and look for a tuna for Ray’s grill. Green water was pushed out past 200′, but it wasn’t too bad of a color. No birds, didn’t mark any bait and even the sub was only marking AJs. So a little farther west we went. MARQUESAS REPORT

Finally made it back to Key West this past weekend. This is a trip we normally do about once a month. But, with the regulars of Team Deep Penetration having the baby bug, and others falling in love (no names, but it begins with a JO and ends with a RGE) it kept getting put off.
